Born in Kyoto, Ikuta Niyoko is one of the leading glass artists in Japan. With a multi-decade career, she has continued to challenge and innovate with her artistic practice. Made from hand-cut laminated glass sheets, her sculptures are at once delicate and imposing. Ikuta’s work has been collected by The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Musée de Design et d'Arts Appliqués Contemporains, Yokohama Museum of Art, The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, Detroit Institute of Arts Museum, Victoria & Albert Museum, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Long Museum, China and more.
