Mikaela Dorfel is an acclaimed Finnish product designer. She relocated to Germany after completing her studies in industrial design at the University of Arts in Hamburg, and worked as Design Manager at Rosenthal AG before founding her own design studio in 1997. She has created products for Selton and WMF and is known for her nature-inspired home accessories and design items.
Her most widely known design is the Double Candle Sticks, often called the Tango candle sticks because of their appearance to be dancing. Featuring two intertwining candle sticks, the design was originally created in 2000 for the studio Menu A/S, now Audo Copenhagen. Originally produced in stainless steel, later production runs included a selection of colored finishes. The selection of these three colors is intended to pair with the three Cassini diamond paperweights. Available individually or as a set of three.
